DescriptionGMC Preparatory School is currently recruiting for a Musical Theatre Exploratory Instructor for SY26-27 who will serve grades 6-8.
Georgia Military College Prep School is a K-12 grade public independent military college-preparatory school with a total student enrollment of 850 for the current school year.
This position will be Full Time. The position will include but is not limited to the following essential duties:
- Conduct musical theatre classes for the Production Students during the first semester for approximately 20-45 students at a time. Conduct musical theatre classes for elective students during 3rd and 4th quarter for approximately 20 students at a time.
- Instruction will include singing movement/dancing acting and some technical theatre.
- Responsible for teaching songs and movement to include in a public Christmas performance jointly performed with all grades at GMC (K-12)
- Responsible for preparing and presenting a Musical in January with assistance from the Fine Arts Director. Primary instruction will be conducted in musical theatre classes during first semester. Afterschool Lead rehearsals will be sporadic throughout first semester and then Full Cast Rehearsals will be in January.
- Responsible for taking Middle School students to Junior Thespian Conference.
- Lead a Musical Theatre Camp during the summer with Assistance from Fine Arts Director
- Assistant with High School One Act and Spring Musical
- Assistant with Hosting Fine Arts Events on Campus
Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

QualificationsMinimum Requirement:
- Applicant must hold a college degree in Theatre Education and experience in musical theatre
- Applicants must hold a valid clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate or have a teaching certificate that Georgia Professional Standards will convert to a Georgia certificate under their guidelines.
Preferences:
- Teaching experience in Musical Theatre
