Position Description
UWC-USA is a two-year co-ed boarding school in Montezuma New Mexico founded in 1982. It educates roughly 220 students aged 1619 from over 70-90 countries focusing on the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma experiential education community service and environmental stewardship.
The Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) reports to the Head School Nurse and provides on-campus health services in the schools on-site Health Clinic. This position ensures safe clinical practice accurate documentation and continuity of care during two consecutive workdays per week (Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday).
Compensation and Schedule
- 16 hours of work over two consecutive days (Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri); exact hours to be determined with the Head School Nurse within the hours of 8AM to 6PM
- Hourly rate of $36/hour; no benefits
- One night of on-site accommodation provided per week
- All meals provided during the two scheduled workdays
Position Responsibilities
Description of Tasks Performed
- Provide medical care to students as needed
- Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medications
- Maintain secure medication storage in accordance with school policy
- Maintain accurate current documentation of treatments events and incidents
- Report student absences due to illness appointments or hospitalization
- Support emergency response procedures as required

Skills Required
- Current (active) New Mexico RN license
- Experience assessing and providing student health services related to injuries and illnesses
- Ability to follow school policies procedures and health regulations
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to remain calm and composed during emergencies
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to work independently within a small team environment
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
