About the Role
This position assists in coordinating continuing programs for youth housed in the Youth Rehabilitation Treatment Center in Omaha and will supervise a team of Youth Counselors.
Key Responsibilities
The Youth Counselor Supervisor will:
Plan assign direct and evaluate the work of Youth Counselors including recommending personnel actions related to selection promotions disciplinary procedures performance grievance dispositions and work assignments to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of the work.
Train staff in agency and facility policies processes rules and regulations to improve and maintain job performance levels of employees. Ensure all required staff training is complete.
Review assessments and treatment plans prepared by Youth Counselors to ensure appropriate services are identified for utilization.
Oversee youth care to ensure security health and safety needs have been met.
Oversee youth treatment services including assessment classification coordination and evaluation of available resources.
Resolve problems relating to the implementation of individualized treatment plans coordinates treatment objectives with other activities.
Conduct individual/group programming sessions with youth as necessary.
Conduct interviews with youth and perform research on youth history and background to collect data for classification studies.
Communicate with parents legal professionals Juvenile Service Officers and other social and state agencies.
Promote community understanding and acceptance of community-based programs through personal contact with business and community.
Assure thoroughness and accuracy of case management services provided to youth.
Review organization functions and recommend to the immediate supervisor more effective methods and programs.
Participate in probation discharge planning
Work Schedule
The training schedule is generally Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The work schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position may require some weeknights weekends and holidays as needed.
Wage
Starting pay rate $32.437/hour increase to $34.059/hour upon successful completion of original probation
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree criminal justice behavioral sciences human services or a related field AND two years of related experience such as providing patient or youth care or rehabilitation/treatment services in a residential setting treatment or correctional program. OR six years of experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

The Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Omaha will be opening in mid-late 2026. This program was established to provide services to male youth and offers evidence-based cognitive behavioral skill-building and substance abuse programming including:
Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)
Aggression Replacement Training (ART)
Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA)
Lion Hearts Power Source Program
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Additional groups include youth feedback and team building.
Individual therapy is also offered to youth with behavioral mental health and substance abuse needs. Therapists use an integrated care model to address co-occurring issues.
Youth who have the need will receive management for psychotropic medications through a contracted Adolescent Psychiatrist or a Psychiatric APRN.
Case Managers and therapists work together to develop case plans with outcomes determined by each youths risks and needs. Other assessments are used to determine treatment needs.
Youth can earn incentives and privileges based on positive behavior. Incentives can include group outings special treats or other fun on-campus or off-campus activities.
Youth may also participate in community service projects based on positive behaviors and earned privileges.
