This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. OSHR supports the Governors Job Ready initiative and seeks to expand a temporary skill set to enhance their qualifications for State government and private sector jobs. This temporary position is with NC Commerce Workforce Solutions (DWS) located at 313 Chapanoke Road Raleigh NC Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $15.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
The Dept of Commerce Workforce Solutions is hiring a part-time Communications Intern. This position is designed for a current college student.
Duties performed may include:
* Drafting/writing content (for example items for newsletters or for internal/external websites) for review by the Communications Manager
* Preparation of documents and reports and research
* Photography (occasional)
* Social media content development
* Drafting talking points for agency leaders
* Editing content written by others in the department
* Collaborating with other staff in the department and gathering information to highlight agency successes
The internship is established as lasting approximately six (6) months with the option to extend it to 11 months in total if the intern is interested and the manager agrees.

Minimum Education and Experience
