QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and relevant Administrative Certification (administration/supervision)
- Three years of successful relevant teaching experience preferred; previous supervisory experience
- Demonstrated leadership communication and organizational skills

REPORTS TO: Kennett High School Principal
LOCATION: Kennett High School
POSITION OVERVIEW:To provide instructional and academic leadership that strengthens teaching and learning promotes data-informed decision-making and ensures high-quality academic programming. The Dean supports staff through coaching and supervision coordinates assessment and intervention systems and collaborates with students families and school teams to enhance engagement attendance and achievement. Through strategic planning personalized pathway development and effective communication the Dean advances schoolwide improvement efforts and contributes to a safe inclusive and academically rigorous learning environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In conjunction with building and district-level leadership leads schoolwide instructional frameworks best practices and curriculum development across departments while supporting teachers through coaching instructional rounds and classroom walkthroughs; guiding school improvement initiatives that strengthen instructional culture and enhance student achievement.
- Oversees and supports the development and alignment of academic course offerings to ensure a coherent rigorous Program of Studies. Provides supervision and evaluation of staff and programming to ensure high-quality instruction compliance and continuous improvement.
- Serves as the schoolwide NWEA/MAP Coordinator by overseeing administration proctor guidance logistics and reporting; maintaining the assessment calendar with the KHS administrative team; leading staff training on using NWEA and classroom assessment data to inform instruction; and overseeing analysis of student progress to support targeted interventions.
- In collaboration with building administration leads recruitment hiring onboarding and assignment of instructional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and student support.
- Ensures clear consistent communication with students families staff community partners and sending districts.
- Maintains accurate records related to students programming and staff to ensure compliance with state and federal statues district and administrative requirements.
- Exercises sound decision-making within assigned authority demonstrating effective educational leadership and assisting with student conduct and discipline as needed to support a safe orderly school environment.
- Support students in improving attendance academic progress and engagement with teachers while coordinating academic intervention efforts and conducting follow-up meetings with families.
- Collaborates with Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) Coordinator School Counseling and Administration to support individualized student pathways.
- Promotes collaborative planning and shared decision-making among students staff advisory committees and community partners in an inclusive environment that supports positive relationships among all stakeholders.
- Monitors student enrollment student interests and emerging academic trends to make informed fiscally responsible recommendations about adding or reducing academic programming to ensure strategic sustainable financial planning in collaboration with building administration.
- Leads the development revision and implementation of the Advisory curriculum; monitors its effectiveness and alignment with school climate and student success goals; integrates SOAR interventions into Advisory structures; and collaborates with school counseling and student services to ensure all students have personalized learning plans that are regularly monitored and evaluated.
- Serves on school and district leadership teams contributing to school and district-wide planning while partnering with building administration on course offerings and scheduling impacts.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 220 day contract position. Salary and work year to be in accordance with the Conway School District Administrators/Supervisors Personnel Policies.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Kennett High School Principal in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
