Overview:
THIS IS A SEASONAL SUMMER-ONLY POSITION.
As a member of the Camp Joy Staff and under the supervision of the Camp Joy Program Manager or designee the Camp Joy Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the site to which he/she is assigned and for the health and safety of all the campers staff and volunteers at his/her site.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Entrance Qualifications:
- Minimum of (4) four years of work experience in the supervision of the special needs population.
- Master of Education Special Education or related field.
- Certified Teacher of Students with Moderate Special Needs (Mass Certification).
- Previous experience as a Therapeutic Recreational Counselor.
- Must show management potential.
- Must have current First Aid & CPR Certificates.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Individual with Disabilities Act and PL14-142 (special education law).
- Knowledge of the Department of Social Services (DSS) mandates.
- Ability to achieve BCYF program objectives.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job.

This position has received a waiver from the Boston Residency Commission establishing a temporary moratorium on the City of Boston Residency Ordinance for a period of three years endingJanuary 4 2027.

Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour
Hours per week: 30
