MAHI RECEPTIONIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: MAHI Receptionist
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Chief of Marketing Communications
PAY GRADE: PARA 035 And Strategic Initiatives (230 days)
DEPARTMENT: State/Federal Programs DATE REVISED: 06/2025
PRIMARY PURPOSE: The MAHI Receptionist will greet and direct Irving ISD and community members as they enter the Magda A Hernandez Institute of Wellness and Professional Learning. The receptionist will provide excellent customer service administrative support and promote a positive wellbeing culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Educational Aide 1 Paraprofessional Certificate
High School Diploma
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent communication verbal and writing skills in English (and Spanish preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint Outlook Teams Word)
Minimum Experience:
At least 1 of customer service
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Perform receptionist/clerical duties in the office as assigned.
2. Assist in the set-up the monthly MAHI Social Hour events.
3. Liaise with district staff/community members the registration of fitness classes.
4. Provide security and control to front door area of the MAHI building.
5. Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.
6. Follows and reports any safety concerns.
7. Assist in the maintenance of program records and preparation of reports as required.
8. Assist in the inventory care and maintenance of equipment as assigned.
9. Assist in preparing equipment for fitness classes.
10. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as required.
11. Performs other reasonable work assignments as directed by the Executive Director.
12. Maintain confidentiality of information.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES:
Adheres to all board policies and district administrative procedures.
EQUIPMENT USED: Copier multi-line telephone facsimile audiovisual equipment and computer.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress. Work within tight deadlines. Monday through Thursday approximately 20 hours. Must be able to carry 30 IBS.
Physical Demands: Frequent in-district and occasional in-state travel. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Safety: Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Observe all safety precautions and guidelines.
