Job Summary
Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
A dedicated and savvy Production Supervisor is needed to ensure the production team can meet customer needs and achieve the highest standards related to manufacturing costs quality efficiency safety and productivity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises production hourly employees in manufacturing activities of an assigned production area in such a manner that approved quality products are manufactured and/or delivered on schedule and within specifications and cost requirements.
- Directly work group or department to ensure production and/or delivery on time.
- Selects and trains employees to produce at standard-and-above efficiency.
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards.
- Responsible for maintaining high employee morale and positive relationships.
- Responsible for teaching safe work practices good housekeeping procedures and ensuring they are adhered to.
- Responsible for keeping machines and/or equipment in good repair.
- Recommend changes or improvements in methods equipment handling or layout.
- Responsible for accuracy of required administrative reports.
- Responsible for controlling absenteeism scrap and waste.
- Frequent contact with office staff giving and/or receiving information
- Completes all other projects assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain qualified production staff to meet company objectives.
- Monitor adherence by personnel to food quality programs and procedures.
- Continually evaluate plant GMP and sanitation standards and programs by reviewing facility inspection reports and follow-up actions.
- Perform GMP inspections.
- Coordinate and assist as necessary with developmental projects to meet concept and time frames.
- Review all new product formulations process techniques and packaging to ensure compliance with existing regulatory guidelines.
- Support the QA staff by assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues that may impact product safety or quality and interacting with regulatory agencies.
- Support the SQF system including food safety fundamentals.
- Other Responsibilities and duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a plant supervisory position.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to run production equipment and work in a cold environment.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced Food Manufacturing Co.
- Bilingual Spanish
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve issues in a calm and professional manner.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Outlook Teams)
