Advanced Cooling Technologies Inc. (ACT) located in Lancaster Pennsylvania manufactures thermal management products for diverse industries and applications including commercial satellites military vehicles medical devices primary calibration equipment and HVAC systems. ACT is seeking team members with a strong interest in performing mechanical inspections of complex parts.
Position Summary
Perform incoming inspections of materials and components as well as in-process and final inspections of products for commercial and/or government customers. Develop implement and maintain CMM inspection programs to support dimensional verification of complex components based on engineering drawings and specifications. This role also assists in maintaining the Quality Management System and requires the ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing quality and process improvement.
The role focuses on inspection and measurement of high-precision machined components used in advanced thermal management systems across aerospace defense medical and commercial applications.
This role is expected to be performed primarily from our Lancaster PA office. In certain circumstances remote or alternative work arrangements may be considered based on the needs of the business and the candidates experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards in accordance with the Quality Policy and AS9100 procedures.
- Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing and inspection processes collaborating with engineering and production teams to understand component requirements and inspection criteria.
- Develop optimize and maintain CMM inspection programs using software such as PC-DMIS or similar platforms based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints including GD&T to support dimensional inspection and verification of complex machined components.
- Conduct dimensional inspections of machined parts using CMM equipment and manual inspection tools such as micrometers calipers and height gauges.
- Perform receiving in-process final and First Article inspections on manufactured and purchased products.
- Analyze and interpret measurement data and generate inspection reports and documentation to ensure parts meet drawing requirements and specifications.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming materials or components prepare nonconformance reports and support corrective actions when necessary.
- Support supplier quality initiatives follow Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention procedures and remain current with advancements in CMM technology and measurement techniques.
- Maintain organized inspection records demonstrate basic computer and math proficiency and follow all company policies including ITAR/export compliance requirements related to technical data and products.
Requirements
- CMM: 2 years
- Certificate from technical school or a minimum of 3 years of related experience in quality inspection of high-precision and custom products preferred.
- Proven experience as a CMM Programmer / Operator in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS Calypso or similar.
- Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in metrology principles and measurement techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
- Prior experience with manual inspection equipment (calipers micrometers etc.).
- U.S. Person status is required due to ITAR and export control regulations. A U.S. Person is defined as a U.S. citizen lawful permanent resident (green card holder) or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b.
