$26.25 per hour

Category/Shift:

Hourly Full-Time Monday through Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM. Primary schedule will be 1st shift but must be flexible/able to work overtime & weekends if needed.

The Job You Will Perform:

Responsible for performing various shipping and receiving tasks including preparing documents and verifying quantities for shipment serving as backup to Shipping Supervisor and working closely with the Shipping Supervisor and other departments on a daily basis by performing the following duties:

  • At shift start check area for safety cleanliness and mechanical problems

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift (must be qualified)

  • Must maintain forklift daily (complete and document forklift daily inspection to ensure that its in good working order prior to use) and report repairs needed to supervisor

  • Operate forklift on a daily basis along with other equipment such as pallet jacks shrink wrap machine and bander

  • Plan daily runs for local outbound customer orders (works with shipping supervisor)

  • Call carriers (LTL or TL) for pickup & PRO freight as needed

  • Prepare computer generated or manual bills of lading

  • Prepare documentation for export orders

  • Check products to be shipped against customer orders to ensure quantities destination and routing are correct and accurate

  • Make sure products are loaded onto trailer in a safe and timely manner

  • Ensure quality product is being shipped out banding is good load tags are placed properly and pallets are in good condition

  • Clean out trailers when necessary

  • Receive and unload incoming materials. Compare information on packing slip with PO. Inspect shipment for damages records and notify shipping supervisor.

  • Account for all bills of lading run daily report and file documents

  • Conduct physical inventory counts at plant and warehouse as needed

  • Help as a backup to warehouse duties which include shipping receiving and maintains rotation on items

  • Enter work orders/notifications into system

  • Receive into HRMS and SAP and ensure that the information is accurate

  • Lead guide and train employees performing related work

  • End of shift cleanup

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment throughout shift

  • Enter maintenance work orders in SAP

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and maintaining good housekeeping

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by immediate supervisor

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • High school diploma or state registered GED preferred

  • Must be forklift operation certified and have at least 2 years of forklift experience

  • Stable work history

  • Must have basic computer skills along with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must be able to direct and train employees

  • At least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified (preferred)

  • Experience with loading/unloading and warehouse duties (preferred)

  • Ability to communicate and work well with others

  • Ability to read write and interpret documents

  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide

  • Ability to maintain quality and safety

  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures

  • Ability to work overtime and some Saturdays when scheduled

  • Ability to work effectively in the following work environment:

    • Standing and walking are required for most of the shift

    • Noise level in the work environment is loud

    • Temperature in plant can fluctuate due to outside temperatures

    • Physical activity requires handling an average weight of 10-15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds

    • While performing duties of this job employees are around moving mechanical parts
