As a member of the Senior Management Team in Family Services you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Family Help ensuring children young people and families receive timely relational whole-family support which improves safety stability and outcomes. The post holder will lead the delivery of Barnets Family Help model in line with national childrens social care reforms.
You will be leading on delivering a child centred whole family approach to supporting children to remain with their families when possible. Crucially you will lead on protecting children and young people from harm at the earliest opportunity and ultimately improve their outcomes.
You will lead and supervise the Assistant Heads of Service and Service Managers across teams overseeing all services for children to ensure high quality permanence planning and tracking in line with statutory regulations and guidelines.
The role will entail extensive relational work between multi-agency partners families and the Council by creating and sustaining strong partnerships to deliver the best outcomes for Barnet children and families.
The role requires a qualified and registered social worker with the ability to manage both projects and finances. A confident credible leader youll have what it takes to network influence and inspire in this important role.
You will:
- Have excellent knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks government guidance policies and procedures relating to Children and Families.
- Have experience of driving workforce development activities leading to improvements in the quality of practice.
- Have detailed knowledge of government guidelines and standards that support the delivery of safe high quality service.
- Have knowledge of professional codes of practice that underpin the Childrens Workforce in statutory and early help settings.
- Have a track record of effectively delivering safe services within a multi-agency framework which has delivered excellent outcomes.
- Have a proven track record of working collaboratively with senior managers in childrens services and in partnership with other agencies.
- Be passionate about engaging children young people and their families obtaining feedback listening to their ideas and promoting co-production of services policies and plans.
