Lithography Process Engineer
What Youll Do
We are actively recruiting a lithography process engineer for the Photonics Platforms Business (PPB). PPB is a rapidly growing business within Applied Materials. We are harnessing the power of Applied Materials world-leading material science and nano-fabrication capabilities to enable the next generation of visual systems that make augmented reality effortless beautiful and deeply human Optical Interconnects for AI Data Centers and quantum device for quantum computing.
As a lithography process engineer in advanced lithography group of PPB located in Sunnyvale California you will be working with team to develop litho process to support cutting-edge devices for AR quantum computing and optical interconnect.
Role Responsibilities:
Willing to learn and put hands on multiple lithography technologies including scanner (DUV I-line) I-line stepper Mask Aligner and maskless (digital) lithography with different type of substrates.
Design and generate simple test macro layout and tapeout mask.
Litho process setup based on SOP and optimization to meet module requirement
Work with CDSEM engineer to create CDSEM recipe and collect CD data to character litho process and build model to improve litho performance.
Prepare and present technical results/learning/proposals within litho group and during department review.
Collaborate with designer integrator and other process engineer to co-optimize process flow.
Encourage to bring up new idea and submit invention disclosure.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduating with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Optics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrates in-depth of expertise in own discipline
Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
Experience in photolithography on 300mm wafer will be a strong plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
this position generally involves working in a clean room it requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls hoods booties safety glasses gloves. This position also requires lifting up to 35lbs.

YesThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location hire grade job-related knowledge skills experience and with consideration of internal equity of our current team addition to a comprehensive benefits package candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program as applicable.
For all sales roles the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
