    SALARY
    Salary will be commensurate with the level of education and experience of the recommended candidate.

    Retirement:
    As a contract teacher this position will automatically be enrolled in the Teacher Retirement Fund (TRF) through the state of Indiana which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). In addition this position is eligible to enroll in a 401(a) retirement investment plan a 403(b) Match Program and a tax-free post-retirement medical expense account (VEBA).

    SUMMARY:

    Assists the principal in the day-to-day management and supervision of the total school program.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

    • Serves as administrative leader of the school in the absence of the principal.
    • Analyzes standardized test data and assists the principal in developing plans for improvement of scores.
    • Stays abreast of current research in middle school education.
    • Administers programs of student discipline and attendance resolves discipline problems and interacts with students to encourage positive behavior.
    • Assists in the interview process and trains new employees.
    • Assists with performance evaluations of staff members and programs of improvement.
    • Develops innovative ideas and concepts regarding professional growth and participates with staff.
    • Assesses and addresses building problems and complaints as they occur.
    • Assists in the supervision and initiation of upkeep on building grounds and equipment.
    • Oversees staff absences and supervises assigned substitute teachers.
    • Schedules and monitors special events occurring during the school day.
    • Assists in developing the master teaching schedule.
    • Supervises and/or assigns staff to ensure supervision of students at all school events before during and after the school day.
    • Develops and maintains positive relationships with parents and the community.
    • Maintains cooperative liaison with the attendance district elementary and high schools.
    • Maintains regular attendance.

    JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in education.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the school community.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
    • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all corporation state and federal requirements.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervises employees when the principal is absent from the building and as directed by the principal. Supervises students.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum 5 years of teaching experience
    Highly effective classroom teacher with demonstrated leadership abilities
    Masters degree in education; public-school experience.

    CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:

    Valid Indiana high school administrators license.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    • Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures and government regulations.
    • Ability to write reports business correspondence and manuals.
    • Ability to write proposals effectively to secure funds for the corporation.
    • Ability to present information and to respond to questions effectively from groups of administrators teachers school board members parents students and the general public.
    • Ability to communicate using correct grammar.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to prepare project monitor and revise multiple budgets.

    • Ability to define problems collect and analyze data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
