Job Summary

4-5 months with a local authority

Summary
  • The Admissions Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Local Authority by managing and administering school placements in line with Welsh Government legislation and Local Authority Admissions Policy. This position is vital for the effective delivery of the Admissions Service across 44 community primary schools 7 community secondary schools 1 nursery school and Early Entitlement settings.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily use of the Capita ONE Admissions and Transfers database ensuring data accuracy and compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Conduct validation checks and investigate discrepancies liaising with external agencies as required.
  • Ensure efficient and secure operation of admissions systems including accurate data input and validation.
Essential Experience Required
  • Experience in a customer-focused role providing advice to headteachers parents and the public.
  • Understanding of Wrexham Councils policies and procedures.
  • Experience using the Capita ONE Admissions and Transfers module.
  • Knowledge of school admissions processes including Welsh Government Admissions and Appeals Codes.
Essential Qualifications Required
  • 3 GCSEs or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Administration (or working towards).
Additional Information
  • Working hours: 25 hours per week
  • Location: Lambpit Street Wrexham Wrexham Principal Area LL11 1AR United Kingdom
  • Interviews will be held at Crown Buildings Wrexham with the Admissions Manager and Access and School Places Manager. The interview will be short and informal focusing on your administrative skills and previous work experience.
