Theideal candidate will be passionate about child nutrition committed to food quality andsafety and capable of administering a high quality cost-effective and compliant foodservice operation that supports student health and academic DUTIESDirects the effective delivery and continuous improvement of a district-wide foodservice computerized software systems for food and non-food ordering payrollstudent data menus nutrient analysis lunch participation state and federal reportsand all other related food service prepares and disseminates information and procedures related to nutritionfood production presentation and efficiency of the trains and oversees the work of all food service personnel makingnecessary recommendations to the Superintendent regarding hiring promoting anddischarging of food service all school menus and ensures school meals meet all USDA child a variety of food choices that appeal to student and implements pricing for all foods sold in the food service for the proper administration of all federal and state all food and non-food supplies taking all steps necessary to secure thehighest quality and service at the most economical paperwork for direct certifications and applications for free and reducedcost lunches. Maintains confidentiality of privileged the resources and services of the cafeteria with the principals of theschool buildings and with leaders of groups or organizations using the cafeteria forspecial activities obtaining supplies and providing personnel for services asrequested and approved by the and oversees the planning and delivery of food for special school ordistrict-sponsored events and programs as directed by the Superintendent/ as principal sanitarian of the kitchens establishing necessary rules andregulations training personnel in the proper handling and storage of food and themaintenance of sanitary facilities and compliance with all food preparation regulations such as Hazard AnalysisCritical Control Points (HACCP) and oversees kitchen health/safety nutritional software to communicate nutritional information to parents andschool nurses for students with special dietary needs such as diabetes and celiacas well as food allergies and food sensitivities. Works with staff to address the needsof students with dietary written evaluations of assigned personnel as per the negotiated accounting procedures in accordance with district standards and state andfederal regulations. Approves invoices for payment creates purchase orders for allfood service vendors and uses computerized point-of-sale reports to preparenecessary reports on operations for submission to the Treasurers Office and stateand federal the timely submission of reports records and inventories. Maintainsdistrict records for the maximum period mandated by law and/or board standards for professional development in accordance with stateregulations. Arranges for relevant in-service training including nutrition food storageand preparation sanitation and safety and equipment use and care for all in cooperation with the Maintenance Supervisor regarding maintenance repairs overall cleaning systems and purchase of equipment used in the at least 12 hours of annual continuing education/ the ability to multi-task in a busy effectively with students parents teachers district personnel andcommunity Food Service presentations for Board of Education meetings as requestedby the a pleasing and friendly any other related duties as assigned by the STANDARDS FOR NEW SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM DIRECTORSNew directors those hired on or after July 1 2015 are subject to the educationrequirements below.
