This role is an exciting opportunity for a facility management professional who enjoys coordinating maintenance programs working with technical teams and contractors and ensuring facilities operate safely efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
In the Facility Coordinator position you will support the operations maintenance and contract administration of facility assets to ensure they remain safe efficient and compliant with industry standards.
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Support the operation and maintenance of building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing fire protection building automation security and site infrastructure.
- Identify maintenance and repair requirements and assist in planning activities that maintain building performance and energy efficiency.
Inspections Compliance & Asset Integrity
- Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards safety requirements and asset integrity expectations.
- Maintain accurate records schedules and documentation related to facility operations inspections and maintenance activities.
Maintenance Planning & Asset Management
- Review maintenance management plans and system data to ensure programs align with industry best practices applicable codes and client standards.
Prepare and maintain building asset inventories and review computerized maintenance management system reports to support decision-making.
Energy Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
- Perform energy audits and analyze building performance to identify opportunities for improved energy efficiency and operational savings.
- Provide recommendations and technical insights that support sustainable facility operations and long-term asset performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams contractors regulatory bodies and client-partners.
- Coordinate third-party involvement in contracts including safety authorities consultants and testing services.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate:
- A college diploma in facility management or related field.
- A minimum of four years relevant experience in facility operations maintenance coordination or contract management.
- Certifications such as Civil Engineering Technician Construction Engineering Technician Real property Management or Facilities Management Administrator are considered assets.
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing fire protection and building automation systems.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and related reporting tools.
- Knowledge of facility management best practices contract administration and regulatory compliance.
Key Competencies
- Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills when working with clients contractors and technical teams.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to improving facility operations and performance.
