Were looking for a Trade Assistant to join our Energy & Utilities Electricity team based in Wiri Auckland.

In this role youll support field crews working on electricity distribution and streetlighting projects assisting with non-electrical civil and mechanical tasks while learning how the industry operates. The work is outdoors practical and varied making it ideal for someone who enjoys being active and working as part of a team.

Full training is provided and this role can become a pathway into trade training apprenticeships or further career opportunities within Downer.

This is a permanent full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week plus the opportunity to earn overtime penal rates and allowances when on call or travelling.

Youre reliable motivated and keen to build new skills. Previous industry experience is helpful but not essential.

Youll bring:

• A full Class 1 NZ drivers licence (Class 2 and WTR endorsements are an advantage)
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• A positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
• A commitment to health and safety
• Physical fitness and comfort working outdoors in varied conditions
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career in the utilities or infrastructure sector
