Job Description:
Weanticipatethe need for one or more DistrictRepresentative Troubleman(s) at our Blair Service Center in Blair WI. The starting base Journeymanpayfor this position is $62.57 hourly (2025 rate). This position will be posted for 15 Working days from March 122026 to April 12026.
Summary
In this position you will perform all duties of DistrictRepresentative Troubleman classification involving overhead and underground electric distribution andtransmission systems as well as performing substation switching. The person filling this position must be self-motivated work well with otherspossessa positive attitude andcommittedto creating customer satisfaction through quality customer service.
High school graduate or equivalent
Technical School Lineman degree is preferred
Must presently be qualified as aJourneyman Lineman and have a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution andTransmission Construction Maintenance and Operating
Experience with digger derricks buckettrucks and groundwork with utility crews is
Must be able to work at heights up to and above 100 feet
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Participation in after-hour emergency callouts in all kinds of weather conditions
Must be committed to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules
Must be of adequate physical stature to perform routine physical labor associated with line work including but not limitedto: lifting climbing working in confined spaces operation of equipment
Willing totravel and work away from home
Mustresidewithin20-mileradius of assigned service center within the first 6 months of hire
Must be committed to working safely and compliance with all company safety rules
Ability to successfully work with customers on a wide range of concerns
RepresentingXcel Energy to public officials and thegeneral public
Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A
This position is subject to D.O.T. random drug and alcohol testing program
Must be able to perform work in confined spaces and be able to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
