About the Role
Were looking for a hands on financial accountant with excellent attention to detail. This role offers genuine variety across financial and management accounting opportunities within a team with a strong collaborative working culture. Advantages but not requirements include a candidate who has experience with EU companies particularly Poland exposure.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management
- Complete month end tasks such as prepayments and accruals and key account reconciliations
- Ownership of individual entity P&L & BS accuracy with meaningful commentary and variance analysis
- Balance sheet reconciliations for international and UK entities with clear documentation
- Oversight of AP/AR processes PO controls and expense programmes
- Manage the administration of the Corporate Calendar within outlook
- Complete project expenses each month and submit to CMAP
- Work with project managers as a business partner to manage their expenses and customer payments
- Maintenance of the asset register
2. Treasury and Cash
- Weekly cash flow processing bank reconciliations and analysis submitted to the Leadership Team
- Review cash balances given expected month end outflows (payroll/ tax)
- Assimilating key information for cashflow reviews and first reviewing multi-currency payment runs
3. Business Partnering
- Reconcile debtor balances and liaise with clients for late payments
- Assist with analytical projects and with the commercial team key projects
- Supporting finance system improvements and change projects
- Provide monthly reports to the business comparing spend vs budget
4. Tax
- Review and submission of the International Entities Financial Information to the BDO team each month
- Oversight of VAT and Corporation tax calculations and be the first point of contact for professional advisers accounting queries and submission
- Review yearend financial statements for accuracy and post any audit adjustments required into Xero to ensure the records align.
There will also be a requirement to help with ad hoc projects such as audit and corporation tax across multiple entities as well as holiday cover for others in the team as required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong financial accounting: monthend prepayments accruals P&L/BS ownership
- Accurate reconciliations with good documentation discipline
- Weekly cashflow bank reconciliations and oversight of AP/AR
- Business partnering with project and commercial teams
- Experience with VAT corporation tax processes and yearend support
- High attention to detail organisation and analytical thinking
Nice to have
- International experience: EU entities experience especially Poland and multicurrency accounting.
- Systems: Power BI and Xero experience
