Job Summary

As a Grants Officer (Pre-Award) you will provide guidance and administrative support for the Universitys research activities. This includes managing a portfolio of research grant services relating to the application establishment management and reporting of research funds.

In this role you will:

  • Provide advice on research application queries and issues to researchers staff and senior management.
  • Show initiative and lateral thinking in performing responsibilities and activities to ensure continual improvement.
  • Be a principal contact and expert for matters relating to research grant application funding opportunities and administration.
  • Ensure the smooth administration of research applications with other key Division and College staff involved in research application development and submission.

This fixed term position is until March 2027 is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills with the ability to provide clear accurate advice.

  1. A degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and at least 2 years subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education and training.
  2. High level computer literacy with demonstrated ability in word processing spreadsheet and database applications including high level accuracy in maintaining records.
  3. Strong customer service skills.
  4. Demonstrated experience and commitment to process improvement and the ability to embrace change in response to new initiatives strategic direction or external requirements.
  5. Ability to make sound decisions within your sphere of responsibility and take responsibility for delivering to plan and on time.
  6. Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to participate in a team environment demonstrating clear oral and written communication respecting their input and working collaboratively.
