POSITION TITLE: Leadership Program Coordinator at Topeka West High School
REPORTS TO: Principal of Topeka West or designee
POSITION PURPOSE: To coordinate facilitate and monitor the Topeka West Leadership program .
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires: 1) a
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in education
- Experience as a high school classroom teacher
- Possess a current Kansas teaching license in any content area and endorsed at the high school level.
PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.) Speaking hearing visual reading writing word processing mobility consistency of temperament ability to work with a variety of problems at the same time stamina for working long hours and in stress producing environments.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the 9th through 12th grade Leadership theme and signature program.
- Facilitate the development of curriculum procedures and processes for the Leadership theme and signature program.
- Facilitate and monitor the curriculum and implementation of the Leadership theme and signature program.
- Coordinate the ordering and maintaining of instructional materials and supplies.
- Coordinate and facilitate the team that reviews student applications for the leadership program.
- Coordinate and facilitate the teams that review students leadership projects.
- Monitor the curriculum and program by facilitating meetings with stakeholders.
- Develop and facilitate professional development for teachers and community members.
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of community partners and student advisors.
- Assist with future marketing and advertising of the program.
- All other assignments assigned by the Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months salary and work year to be determined by Board of Education. Some differentiated hours may be necessary to attend parent meetings.
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of certified staff.
