Job Summary

This role is based in our 5 Howick Place office.

The Head of Portfolio Resource Management is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the effective sourcing allocation and management of resourcesincluding people financial assets and recharge modelsacross the One Informa and Technology portfolios. This role ensures the optimal use of organizational resources to deliver strategic initiatives successfully. Leading a high-performing team of Portfolio Analysts within a matrix structure the role focuses on planning prioritization and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resource Planning & Management

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource planning framework to ensure the efficient allocation of people skills and tools across the portfolio.
  • Collaborate with delivery leaders to forecast resource needs address capacity gaps and resolve capability challenges.
  • Establish processes to monitor resource utilization providing real-time insights to support effective prioritization and planning.
  • Drive resource optimization strategies to balance workloads minimize bottlenecks and ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
  • Partner with HR to create workforce planning strategies that align skills and expertise with portfolio demands.

Financial Resource Planning & Management

  • Oversee financial resource planning to ensure budgets align with portfolio priorities and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Partner with Finance to monitor and report on financial performance identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Recharge Model Development

  • Collaborate with Finance to design and implement a transparent and equitable recharge model for accurate cost allocation and recovery across projects and business units.
  • Regularly review and refine the recharge model to reflect changes in priorities resource usage and financial structures.
  • Provide training and clear communication to stakeholders to ensure understanding and compliance with the recharge model.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Recruit lead and mentor a team of Portfolio Analysts fostering their growth and professional development.
  • Build relationships with external partners to provide flexible portfolio resources aligned with the Informa Way.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Leads for Planning and Performance to ensure effective resource allocation and performance management.
  • Establish an operating model that supports team development skill-building and career progression through constructive performance management.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a senior leader providing strategic guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement across all portfolio activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders offering expert guidance on resource planning and financial optimization.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to align resource planning with portfolio delivery and organizational strategy.
  • Act as a bridge between senior leadership and project teams to ensure strategic goals are met.
  • Partner with peers and the VP SP&P to shape and mature the SP&P operating model ensuring alignment and adaptability as roles and responsibilities evolve.

Qualifications :

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive experience in resource planning financial management or portfolio operations with a proven track record in senior leadership roles.
  • Expertise in resource management frameworks financial planning and recharge model development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with financial acumen and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution skills effectively connecting business strategy to delivery execution.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leadership and executives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and mentorship.
  • Proficiency in PPM tools such as MS Project Smartsheet Microsoft Excel and foundational Power BI skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in dynamic fast-paced environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a flexible and team-oriented mindset to ensure collective success and delivery of outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as PMP PRINCE2 CFA or Agile.
  • Knowledge of transformation methodologies and frameworks including Lean Six Sigma or Agile.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and practices.
  • Understanding of value realization frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies.
