The incumbent reports to the Senior Director Total Rewards. The incumbent plays a leadership role in managing and evolving compensation at Transat. They are responsible for designing optimizing and administering compensation programs in alignment with the organizations strategic directions. Acting as a leader they support HR teams managers and executives in interpreting applying and improving compensation policies and programs. They oversee a team responsible for the annual cycles related to salaries variable compensation and related programs and contribute to maintaining the integrity competitiveness and equity of the compensation structure.
- Lead the design evolution and administration of compensation programs policies and processes (including direct and incentive compensation commission programs HR policies and other compensation components).
- Provide leadership and guidance to managers HR teams and internal partners on all compensation-related matters including resolving complex issues.
- Supervise the team responsible for executing annual cycles (salary reviews bonus payments incentive programs) including analyses recommendations and related communications job evaluation processes and market analyses.
- Act as a leader for a job architecture review project including evaluation processes and salary structure redesign.
- Develop communication strategies and proactively promote compensation programs to employees and managers.
- Supervise the team in conducting specialized analyses to support strategic decision-making related to compensation particularly during collective agreement renewals.
- Oversee and carry out pay equity projects at the provincial and federal levels.
- Participate in any other cross-functional project related to compensation or strategic HR initiatives.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Relations Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in compensation including time in a managerial role.
- Strong skills in managing large-scale projects.
- Experience in transformation projects related to job architecture.
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong influencing skills autonomy and collaborative leadership.
- Excellent command of MS Office tools (Word Excel Outlook Teams) and proven comfort with digital collaborative tools and AI (e.g. Copilot).
- Knowledge of SAP or another HRIS (an asset).
- Excellent oral and written communication in French and English*.
*A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English both orally and in writing with colleagues customers and other stakeholders in Quebec the rest of Canada and internationally.
