US PAYROLL SPECIALIST - Costa Rica (on site)

We are seeking a highly skilled North America Payroll/Tax Expert to join our team. As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for managing payroll process and inquiries for our North America Canada and Mexico based employees ensuring that all related regulations and legal requirements are met. You will also be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries bonuses and other employee payments. You will be based in Costa Rica.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ensure compliance with North America payroll adhere to regulations and legal requirements
- Process payroll for North America-based employees accurately and timely
- Ensure timely submission of all payroll-related taxes and other government reports
- Responsible for setting up new entities when needed in various states and counties as permitted
- Main contact for Payroll Team to provide support to Tax and Finance Teams across multiple entities
- Manage and maintain accurate employee records and information
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and various payroll -related matters
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of employee benefits including health insurance entering new hires retirement plans and other benefits
- Stay up to date with changes in North America payroll regulations and communicate any changes to the relevant stakeholders
- Partner with Finance Team in delivering accurate reports
- Assist with upcoming integration with a new payroll vendor and or new payroll platform
- Ability to create streamline process to work efficiently and effectively
- Cross Train amongst Payroll Team to cover leaves and absences
- Time and Attendance Management
- Generating payroll reports and assisting with audits
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in finance accounting or a related field
- Min. 7 years of experience in North America payroll processing and tax
- ADP WORKFORCE proficiency (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
- Must have payroll tax experience the knowledge to set up entities to ensure employees are paid correctly across several states in the US
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
- Proficiency in relevant payroll and pension software and systems: ADP Work Force Now and Workday
