We are looking for: Nursing Veterinary Assistant
Schedule: Monday Tuesday every other weekend 7pm-7:30am
Never a dull moment in the Nursing department! Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are being executed. This department is perfect for someone who canidentifypatient distress and react accordingly enjoys phlebotomy placing IV cathetersassistingwith recovery and client follow up and education.
Whatyoulldo:
- Record and deliver organized rounds discusscasesand gatheradditionalinformation as necessary
- Partner with patient care teamregardingtreatment plans clientcommunicationand nursing care concerns
- Provide client education including but not limitedto:home care instructions medications (indications adverse reactions)and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
- Assist DVM with patient assessmenttreatmentand procedures
- Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
Whoyou are:
- Prior veterinary experiencerequired;previousemergency experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs constant rate infusions unit conversions etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to workadditionalhours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
