Whats the role

This role is accountable for leading and enhancing the DDAI divisions risk governance and oversight ensuring nonfinancial risks are effectively managed in line with Westpacs Risk Management Framework. The role exists to embed strong risk culture consistent governance practices and effective risk monitoring across DDAI enabling the division to meet its strategic objectives while satisfying regulatory and compliance obligations.

The role ensures the Divisional risk profile is proactively managed within appetite including value chains and obligations and that governance forums operate effectively. Acting as a key interface between DDAI and central risk functions the role translates enterprisewide risk initiatives and regulatory requirements into practical divisional actions and sustainable improvements.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and facilitate DDAI risk governance forums (including Divisional RiskCo) ensuring highquality secretariat support clear escalation pathways and a strong risk culture.
  • Embed and maintain Westpacs Risk Management Framework across DDAI managing the Divisional risk profiles risk appetite KRIs issues incidents scenario analysis attestations and the uplift of automated controls.
  • Identify and assess emerging Divisional nonfinancial risks ensuring timely investigation remediation trend analysis and prevention of recurrence.
  • Coordinate and manage responses to divisional regulatory and policy changes oversee divisional regulatory interactions and coordinate Group risk initiatives within DDAI.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to DDAI leadership partner closely with Group Risk Compliance and Audit and build and develop a highperforming team with strong risk capability.

What do I need

  • Deep expertise in operational and non-financial risk with over 10 years in financial services.
  • Strong governance analytical and reporting skills; able to distill complex risk data into clear insights.
  • Proven leadership and team development fostering a high-performance risk-aware culture.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication with influence at senior levels.
  • Strategic mindset with a track record of delivering risk transformation and uplift initiatives.
