Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated reliable and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented individual to clean and maintain a commercial building. While previous experience in janitorial housekeeping or a related field is preferred it is not mandatory. All applicants must successfully pass HBM prescreen check. -Position:Housekeeping

-Location: Kakaako (Honolulu HI 96814)

-Schedule:Tuesday to Saturday: 6:00AM to 2:30PM (Days off: Sunday/Monday)

-Compensation per hour:$18.25

-Key Responsibilities:

Communicate effectively in English and understand assigned tasks.

Adhere to safety procedures at all times

Report safety concerns or building issues (e.g. burnt light bulbs).

Work well both as part of a team and independently.

Ability to work in various environments and conditions.

Capable of standing walking and bending for extended periods.

Clean and maintain commercial building thoroughly: sweep dusting (high and low areas) mopping use of a vacuum and leaf blower sanitize and wiping down areas.

Specific areas: Restrooms offices tables chairs and benches corridors and entrance areas storefronts and garages street curbs and loading docks walkways staircases and escalators elevators glass doors and mirrors disinfect frequently touched surfaces.

Remove any fecal matter and rubbish found throughout the building.

Address spills promptly by cleaning area and placing a caution sign.

Maintain restrooms by ensuring they are clean and restocking supplies as needed.

Collecting and disposing of trash from bins wastebaskets and recyclables in designated areas replace trash bag liners.

Collaborate with the team to manage and push trash bins.

Polish all stainless-steel surfaces to keep them gleaming.

Inform the appropriate HBM employee about any needed cleaning supplies or equipment.

Perform any additional tasks assigned by HBM supervisor or property manager.

-Skillfully utilize various cleaning machines such as:

Use of a vacuum for indoor cleaning

Use of a leaf blower for outdoor spaces

Use of a power wash machine

Use of a buffer or scrub machine

-Skills/Qualifications:

Must pass HBM prescreen check.

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.

Must have good public relations skills and communication.

Applicants must perform basic manual labor clean common areas frequently lift push pull carry a minimum of 30lbs (up to 50lbs) be able to reach overhead grasp objects bend kneel crawl squat climb stretch walk use of stairway escalator elevator and use of a ladder for climbing and standing throughout their shifts.

Previous janitorial custodian experience or related experience is preferred and willing to train.

Valid Hawaii drivers license preferred but not required.
