Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Teaching performance composition and music theory

• Supporting pupils in developing practical musical skills using instruments and voice

• Encouraging creativity and confidence through group performance and collaboration

• Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback

• Contributing to the development of the Music curriculum and resources

• Supporting school concerts performances and extracurricular music activities

• Maintaining music equipment and rehearsal spaces

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have strong subject knowledge in Music

• Be confident teaching both practical and theoretical elements of the subject

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for music education and pupil engagement

• Possess strong classroom management and organisational skills

• Be willing to contribute to the wider musical life of the school
