We are looking for an enthusiastic Night Manager who knows how to get the best out of their team and leads from the front by setting and providing the highest levels of customer service. A team player who enjoys the hospitality industry and wants to further their career.
From checking guests in/out through to dealing with guest complaints this varied position will require exceptional communication skills and the ability to think on your feet. You will be confident in your decision making and have a strong focus on safety and security.
This is a permanent full-time role based at Novotel Christchurch Airport Hotel. The pay rate is $29 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 32 hours per week.
KeyResponsibilities
- Manage Night Team Operations
- Perform night audit operations as per the hotels accounting system and print night audit reports accordingly.
- Complete financial and other auditing processes
- Assist Front Desk during busy check in and check out to ensure guests are receiving the best possible services
- Have in place security procedures. Cash guests personal possessions incident reports.
- Responsible for leading emergency procedures and liaising with emergency services to ensure the safety of all our guests and team members
- Monitor the appearance standards and performance of the Front Office team on shift with an emphasis on training and teamwork
- Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and amenities
- Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-meeting minutes generated
- Comply withthe Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and amendments Smoke Free Environments Act1990and the Gambling Act 2003 New Zealand Legislation
- Comply withthe terms and conditions of the premises liquor licences

Required Qualifications & Experiences :
- NZQF Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).
- OR At least three years of relevant experience.
- You will need a current General Managers Certificate.
- Accounts experience is an advantage.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests make the most of their day.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills with good attention to detail.
- Confident well-motivated enthusiastic and determined.
- Flexible and adaptable in approach.
- Ability to prioritize work to deadlines and remain composed under pressure Work to a high standard accurate and organized.
- Approachable and flexible & a team player Committed to continuing professional development
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours as required.(Working hours is 11pm-7:30am)
- Can work on a rotating roster.
