Job Summary: | The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Urogynecology Tissue and Fluid Bank Coordinator to support the collection processing storage and distribution of human biospecimens for research. This position plays a critical role in maintaining biospecimen quality ensuring protocol compliance and supporting investigators across the addition this individual will help develop a software interface to document and share biospecimens within the bank. The coordinator will work closely with clinical teams pathology and research laboratories to facilitate efficient biobanking operations. Key Responsibilities: Specimen Collection & Processing (30%) Coordinate and perform the collection labeling processing aliquoting and cryopreservation of human tissues blood and other clinical biospecimens. Monitor surgical schedules and patient eligibility to ensure timely specimen acquisition. Follow standardized protocols to ensure biospecimen integrity and quality. Transport specimens between clinics surgical areas pathology and biobank storage. Perform bench experiments intermittently (i.e ELISA PCR etc.) and preparing specimens for core services. Data & Inventory Management (40%) Maintain accurate and timely data entry in biorepository and research databases (e.g. OnCore REDCap). Track specimen chain-of-custody freezer placement and distribution. Conduct routine data audits and freezer inventory checks. Compliance & Documentation (20%) Verify informed consent and confirm eligibility under IRB-approved protocols. Adhere to institutional regulatory and ethical guidelines including HIPAA CAP/CLIA FDA and NIH best practices. Assist in developing and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs). Collaboration & Administrative Support (10%) Serve as a liaison between clinical care teams pathology personnel and researchers. Coordinate fulfillment of specimen requests and prepare shipments for approved investigators. Maintain supplies equipment and laboratory work areas. Help train new staff and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Coordinate shipments of supplies and/or biospecimens to collaborating institutions and receiving biospecimen shipments from these collaborators. |
Work Location: | Onsite this role is expected to work primarily onsite and is located in Aurora CO. Some travel to Highlands Ranch Hospital for coordination of specimen collection may be required at times. |

Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in any field o A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a year for year basis. One (1) year clinical research or related experience Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems) Experience in biobanking tissue collection surgical pathology or clinical trial support. Experience with IRB protocols HIPAA regulations and regulated clinical workflows. Relevant certifications such as ASCP (HT/HTL) CCRC or ACRP-CP. Experience with Microsoft Word PowerPoint Excel Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with biospecimen management systems (OnCore REDCap). Knowledge of biospecimen handling cryogenic storage and QA/QC procedures. Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution Outstanding customer service skills Knowledge of basic human anatomy physiology medical terminology Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information |

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE ($52721 $67061). The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
