Job Summary

Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy and Communications the Communications & Publications Manager supports the day-to-day execution of the schools communications and marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for producing high-quality print and digital materials coordinating photography and event coverage and ensuring the timely delivery of communications across platforms. The Communications & Publications Manager works closely with and supports the work of the Director of Brand Management and Marketing and contributes to the broader priorities and initiatives of the office under the leadership of the Director of Communications. This role is part of a collaborative and supportive team that works closely together and across departments to support the schools communications and storytelling efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Print & Publication Production
  • Execute the production of two annual school magazines and a summer/year-end event mini-magazine including writing editing and coordinating content selecting images managing proofing cycles and liaising with the designer and printers.
  • Produce institutional publications such as handbooks tuition materials the printed school calendar and event programs
  • Support the creation of various print collateral including brochures invitations and signage for Admissions Advancements and other departments across campus.
  1. Event & Advancement Support
  • Produce print and digital materials for Advancement initiatives including special event assets invitations campaign proposals reunion materials and signage.
  • Prepare banners programs and environmental graphics for school events.
  • Provide on-site photography coverage for daily and special events.
  1. Brand Implementation
  • Apply established brand guidelines consistently across all materials.
  • Create and manage branded templates (Google slides stationery signage web headers etc.).
  • Assist divisions and departments in preparing materials that align with school brand standards.
  1. Photography & Image Production
  • Capture and edit photography for events athletics performances and school candids.
  • Coordinate and hire professional photographers including scheduling and shot lists.
  • Process curate organize and archive images.
  • Upload and distribute images for use across departments and platforms.
  1. Digital Production & Content Support
  • Build and publish digital magazine issues (WordPress).
  • Update school website pages and upload content as directed (Finalsite).
  • Maintain communication templates and digital assets.
  • Organize and manage digital files and image libraries (Pixevety).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in communications journalism English marketing or related field.
  • Minimum three to five years of relevant experience in independent schools higher education communications or marketing.
  • Strong writing editing proofreading and design skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and content management systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience with photography and photo editing. Highly organized detail-oriented and able to manage multiple production deadline.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
