Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct patient care in an acute care hospital setting. The CNA will assist nursing staff with patient support tasks promote patient comfort and safety and ensure quality care through effective communication and observation. This role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing grooming dressing and toileting.

  • Support patient mobility by assisting with transfers repositioning and ambulation while following proper safety protocols.

  • Measure and record vital signs such as temperature pulse respiration and blood pressure.

  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes to the nursing staff.

  • Assist with feeding and hydration for patients who require support.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and observations in the electronic medical record system.

  • Ensure patient rooms and care areas are clean organized and stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Assist nurses and healthcare staff with procedures and patient care tasks as directed.

  • Provide compassionate support to patients and communicate professionally with patients families and staff.

  • Follow all infection control safety and facility protocols.

Work Schedule
  • 40 hours per week

  • Combination of two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts weekly

  • Rotating shifts required

  • Weekend coverage required (every weekend)

  • Holiday coverage may be required

Minimum Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification through Prometric Hawaii

  • Active state certification required prior to start

  • Minimum of 4 years of CNA experience preferably in an acute care setting

  • Ability to work rotating shifts and weekend schedules

  • Strong patient care teamwork and communication skills

Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required

  • Additional certifications may be required depending on facility policy

Systems & Technology
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner

Additional Information
  • Holiday pay applies only if the shift begins on the recognized holiday.

  • If a shift begins on the holiday the entire shift is eligible for holiday pay. If the shift begins before the holiday but ends during the holiday the holiday rate does not apply.
