**Position Overview:**
The role entails a variety of critical responsibilities including:
- Application of advanced nursing theories principles practices and procedures to effectively manage assignments involving critically ill patients.
- Execution of assigned duties aimed at providing comprehensive care across diverse patient demographics.- Adherence to established standards of care ensuring compliance with all relevant policies procedures and guidelines utilized within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Preparation of physician-prescribed medications including the capability to draw up various injection types such as prolotherapy steroids visco-supplementation and Botox.
Administration of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections following in-house training which necessitates proficiency in phlebotomy.
- Accurate entry of patient data and equipment settings into the electronic health record system.
- Assistance during procedures by handling instruments adjusting lighting and repositioning patients as necessary.
- Preparation of laboratory specimens for processing ensuring proper identification and entering laboratory test requests into the computer system for delivery to the Pathology department.
- Coordination of patient follow-up and procedure appointments including the provision of tailored pre-procedure instructions and participation in post-procedure education and discharge processes.
- Conducting post-procedure telephone triage during business hours offering guidance based on nursing interventions and directives from the supervising physician.
**Schedule:** Monday to Friday 0730-1630.
**Minimum Qualifications:**

**Education:** Graduate of an accredited nursing program (community college junior college college or vocational) recognized by the relevant State agency and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) at the time of completion.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 12 months of hands-on patient care as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPVN) in an outpatient clinical setting within the last 24 months demonstrating proficiency in patient care delivery equipment operation and maintenance medication administration (oral and parenteral) and assisting in medical treatments according to established protocols within the LPVN scope of practice.

**Licensure/Registration:** Possession of a current full active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.

**Life Support Certification:** A valid American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
