Job Summary
Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Pittsburg PA ( Please note that this position will require a move to either Texas or Oklahoma after 2 years)
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will lead the design and optimization of electrical systems supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines compressor stations and storage facilities. You will integrate advanced technologies including automation real-time monitoring and energy storage to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
This role is responsible for ensuring system safety through arc flash mitigation fault detection and compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. You will also manage complex engineering projects from concept through completion delivering solutions that align with business goals schedules and budgets.
This is a high-impact role where your leadership and technical expertise directly contribute to operational safety reliability and long-term infrastructure performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and optimization of electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting pipelines compressor stations and storage facilities
- Integrate advanced technologies such as automation real-time monitoring and energy storage to improve system performance and reduce costs
- Implement safety measures including arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems
- Develop electrical schematics system layouts and power distribution designs for new facilities and upgrades
- Manage engineering projects from concept through commissioning while meeting schedule and budget targets
- Ensure compliance with safety environmental and regulatory standards (NEC NEMA API IEEE)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable engineering solutions
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team
- Support procurement of electrical equipment and work with vendors and suppliers
- Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) commissioning and startup of electrical systems
Technical Expertise
- BS in Electrical Engineering (PE Preferred) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Natural Gas data centers or related industries.
- Power system design analysis and simulation (ETAP MATLAB PSCAD Simulink or similar)
- High-voltage equipment including transformers generators and switchgear
- Grid integration and renewable energy systems
- Arc flash studies and electrical safety improvements
- PLC and instrumentation systems (preferred)
- Experience with FEED Pre-FEED or EPC projects (preferred)
- Up to 50% travel required
