Product Evaluation Systems an Applied Technical Services company is looking for a Quality Inspector to be based at our location in Latrobe PA.

The Quality Inspector is responsible for using precision tools and state-of-the-art equipment to inspect test specimens and calibrate measuring equipment to established industry specifications customer directives and requirements set forth by the Quality Program.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

Must have the ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and Purchase Orders.

Operate mechanical and electronic handheld inspection equipment as needed (micrometers calipers various gauges etc.).

Operate advanced metrology equipment such as Scopes Optical Comparators and Visual Measurement Systems.

Ensures inspection results are documented and entered into required databases/systems.

Work closely with test technicians and machinists to help improve processes.

Maintain department equipment and work area for successful operation and cleanliness.

Participate in the generation of new ideas to increase quality and productivity.

Qualifications

Must be able to use precision instruments including micrometers calipers and basic hand tools.

Position requires incumbent to wear personal protective equipment including gloves and safety glasses.

High school diploma or equivalency.

One to Three (1-3) years of prior experience in Quality or Manufacturing (inspection calibration).

Ability to read and interpret drawings and tolerances (GD&T).

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g. Word Excel) and Outlook.

Experience with ANSI Y14.5 preferred.
