School Year: 2026-27Position: Dean of StudentsCampus: United Elementary 17th (s): Kindergarten-5th GradeReports to: School Director United Schools (United) is a nonprofit organization in Columbus Ohio. After founding its first school in 2008 it has worked together with incredible leaders to open three more schools in the span of ten years. Each United campus is an open enrollment public charter school that works diligently to close the opportunity gap in Columbus. Moreover the mission of all United campuses is to transform lives and our communities through the power of education while maintaining our vision: For every child an open door. United currently operates two high-performing elementary schools (K-5) and two high-performing middle schools (6-8) that serve more than 900 students. We strive to provide students with a rigorous academic experience in a joyful learning environment and we work hard to ensure that students of all levels grow and succeed by focusing on intentional student support and continual improvement. Position DescriptionAt United Schools the Dean of Students (DoS) position is integral in building a strong positive and joyful school culture. The DoS is responsible for supporting student growth and achievement by creating safe and productive classroom environments and getting proximate to students and families. Additionally the DoS shapes positive school culture by designing whole school celebrations/events oversees the recording of behavioral incidents and implements systems for improvement. On the whole the DoS position works to support and strengthen positive school culture and can serve as a strong mentor for students in need. Joining Our TeamUnited Core Traits:Mission-Driven. Team members maintain a sense of calm while addressing a number of :Holds a B.A./B.S. degree (required); advanced degree at least three years of proven school leadership and/or teaching experience in urban settings with an emphasis on data-driven instruction and demonstrable gains in student and Skills:Is committed to using data-driven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student relentless in writing refining and internalizing curriculum lessons and open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team effectively with students families and with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities. Terms of EmploymentAlthough this position will begin July 1 2026 applications will be considered is a full-time position. Report times are typically Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. although some job-related tasks can be expected outside of these : The starting salary for a new Dean of Students with a Bachelors degree is $65000.
