Job Summary
Reporting to the Director Investment Funds Reporting the student Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for:
- Prepare and analyze annual and interim financial statements for investment funds including supporting documents within tight deadlines.
- Detect errors omissions and inconsistencies in data.
- Prepare journal entries including qualitative and quantitative backup.
- Review existing process documentation and make updates.
- Provide recommendations on efficiencies standards and improvements related to financial processes and/or systems.
- Be abreast with knowledge of accounting requirements for investment funds IFRS IFIC NI 81-106.
- Be able to interpret and summarize accounting norms.
- Be risk aware and have a detailed understanding of the control framework.
- Work independently with external auditors on assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with people inside and outside division.
- Participate fully as a member of the team promote team effectiveness and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Participate in team projects.
Qualifications:
- Working towards a diploma with a focus in accounting.
- Understanding or interest in the investment industry.
- Adaptable to work with various fund accounting systems (e.g. Fund Suite ARC MPower).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
- Interest in Microsoft Power Platform applications.
- Knowledge of French will be an asset.
Personal characteristics:
- Strong analytical and inquiry skills to understand operational processes and constraints.
- Work in an efficient manner and respect timelines.
- Effectively communicate ideas/recommendations while considering viewpoint of stakeholders.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision but in line with remote team objectives.
- Able to work overtime during peak periods.
