Job Summary

Our Community Team is supportive dynamic and growing! We are looking for individuals who are energetic active responsible and caring. We are seeking two responsible and compassionate individuals for the Coordinator roles. These temporary full-time positions run for 8-weeks at 35 hours per week with regular weekday shifts scheduled Monday to Friday 10:00am-5:30pm.

  • Plan organize and support the delivery of inclusive recreation programs for children youth families and seniors across multiple school gymnasium sites.
  • Facilitate group activities such as dropâin and registered programs that involve fitness and sport as well as other community wellness initiatives.
  • Create safe welcoming and inclusive environments by following YMCA policies safety standards and responding appropriately to incidents or first aid situations.
  • Adapt programs and activities to meet the diverse needs of participants including individuals with disabilities newcomers and different age groups.
  • Collaborate with YMCA staff volunteers schools and community partners to support successful program delivery and community engagement.
  • Assist with program administration including attendance tracking scheduling basic reporting and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist with implementing program plans and leading daily activities in accordance with YMCA standards and program expectations based on program theme and age of participants.

Wed love to hear from people with:

  • Postâsecondary training or currently enrolled in recreation kinesiology education social sciences community development or a related field (preferred).
  • Has a passion for working with children youth families seniors or community groups in a recreation camp education or support role.
  • Interest in community-based recreation wellness and inclusive programming within gymnasium settings.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations including individuals with disabilities newcomers and youth facing barriers to participation.
  • Basic digital skills including email scheduling tools and simple data or attendance tracking.
  • Eligibility that meets the Canada Summer Job Program requirements
