About the Role:

The Practice Specialist and Trainer will deliver high-quality professional learning to diverse professional audiences including educators school leaders and system-level stakeholders across Australia. This will include the facilitation of face-to-face and online training implementation support and practice-focused learning experiences that are responsive to the needs of different settings and professional cohorts.

The MacKillop Institute is an external-facing division of MacKillop Family Services responsible for sharing evidence-informed knowledge and practice expertise to strengthen the capability of education systems schools and community-based organisations operating across education health and community services sectors.

About You:

Youre an experienced educator or trainer with a background in education health or community services. Youre passionate about facilitating professional learning experiences that are engaging evidenceinformed and responsive to diverse professional audiences delivered facetoface and online and aligned with principles of adult learning and traumainformed practice.

This is an ongoing full-time opportunity based in South Melbourne within our MacKillop Institute Program.

What You Will Do:

Deliver highquality professional learning across MacKillop Institute programs with a primary focus on Power to Kids in Schools and secondary contributions to programs such as ReLATE Seasons for Growth Sanctuary and other Institute workshops as required.

Provide implementation guidance coaching and practicebased support to schools education systems and organisations to strengthen program uptake fidelity and impact.

Contribute to the ongoing development review and adaptation of program content learning materials and resources across relevant Institute programs informed by research evaluation findings and participant feedback.

Ensure all professional learning content and delivery approaches promote cultural safety inclusive practice and alignment with MacKillop Family Services childsafe principles and Sanctuary commitments.

Support the strategic and operational objectives of the MacKillop Institute including contribution to planning reporting evaluation and continuous improvement activities.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated expertise in the design facilitation and delivery of highquality trauma-informed professional learning for adult learners including experience working with diverse professional cohorts across education health or community services sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport create psychologically safe learning environments and engage effectively with participants stakeholders and partners in both facetoface and online contexts.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including contributing to shared planning problemsolving and continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice child safeguarding and cultural safety including knowledge of Aboriginal cultures and values and awareness of the contemporary issues affecting Aboriginal children young people and families with a demonstrated commitment to culturally safe practice.
