Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Acute Care Float provides direct patient care and support services across multiple acute care units. This role assists registered nurses and healthcare teams in delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining patient comfort safety and dignity.
The CNA will float between assigned departments based on patient care needs and staffing requirements supporting a variety of patient populations in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing grooming and feeding.
Monitor and record vital signs intake and output and other patient observations.
Assist with patient mobility transfers and repositioning to maintain comfort and prevent complications.
Provide support with patient hygiene and personal care needs.
Assist nurses with routine patient care procedures and preparation for examinations or treatments.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Ensure patient rooms and care areas remain clean organized and safe.
Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests.
Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
Follow infection control protocols and patient safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Experience working in acute care or hospital settings.
Ability to work in multiple units as part of a float pool team.
Strong communication and patient care skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
