About the Role
As a Food Technology Teacher you will deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 helping pupils develop confidence in food preparation healthy eating and culinary techniques. You will encourage creativity while teaching essential skills such as food safety nutrition and meal planning.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teaching practical cooking skills and food preparation techniques
Educating pupils on nutrition healthy eating and food safety
Managing the food technology classroom and ensuring safe working practices
Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
Supporting pupils of varying abilities through differentiated teaching strategies
Contributing to departmental planning and curriculum development
Supporting enrichment opportunities such as cooking clubs or food-related projects
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related discipline
Demonstrate the ability to deliver engaging and practical lessons
Be confident managing practical classrooms and maintaining safety standards
Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
Be committed to supporting pupils development of practical and life skills
