Job Description
The Division of Elections is currently accepting applications for a Temporary Election Publication Assistant in the Anchorage Region II Office. This is a full-time temporary position beginning in the spring and continuing through mid-November. While this position is not eligible for health insurance or PERS benefits it does participate in the Alaska Supplemental Annuity Plan (SBS) which serves as an alternative to Social Security contributions. Please note that overtime will be required during the peak election season.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Alaska Division of Elections is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented temporary Publication Assistant to help support the assembly of the states Ballot Measure Pamphlet and Official Election Pamphlet.
The ideal candidate will be dependable energetic and comfortable working in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are important in this role as you will assist with preparing and reviewing materials used in statewide elections.
At times this position may involve working under tight deadlines so strong time-management and prioritization skills are essential. We are looking for someone who can stay organized and focused as workload demands increase ensuring all materials are completed accurately and delivered on schedule.
We Are Looking for Someone with the Following Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Adobe Excel Outlook and Zoom
- Strong communication skills both in person and over the phone
- Excellent attention to detail especially when proofreading documents
- Ability to multitask follow direction and work collaboratively
- A willingness to learn and retain new information
