The role
The Category Manager role focuses on creating value across the department by using wholeofgovernment procurement approaches strategic category planning and strong analytical frameworks. It involves working closely with stakeholders to provide practical procurement guidance lead category planning manage strategic supplier relationships and monitor outcomes through KPIs and regular performance reporting. The role is also responsible for overseeing and supporting agency accreditation under the NSW Procurement Boards Accreditation Scheme including monitoring ongoing compliance providing advice on accreditation frameworks and leading the preparation and submission of annual accreditation reporting.
The role will be representing DPHI at whole-of-Government category management working groups. As necessary you will be assisting on high level strategic procurements across the team relating to your relevant categories.
A key part of the job is navigating the complexity of diverse operations while identifying savings managing uncertainty and keeping aligned with financial social and environmental goals. The role requires building strong relationships staying across procurement best practice and trends and delivering highquality timely insights that help the department make informed decisions.
