POSITION TITLE: NurseREPORTS TO: Director of the Sutton Summer Fun ProgramQUALIFICATIONS: Valid license to practice as an RN or LPN from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Experience in child/pediatric health community health or relevant clinical nursing experience is preferred but not RESPONSIBILITIES: Tends to the minor and major medical needs of students and staffCommunicates medical needs and concerns with familiesProvides medication only when a family provides appropriate medication formsCompletes and maintains illness and injury logsReports injuries and incidents according to the public school policyAssist and verify authorized pick-ups following school policiesReview and verify that all students/participants have current Physical Exams on file andImmunizations are in complianceReview health records for chronic medical conditions that require medication management such as Asthma Diabetes Seizure Disorders and/or Life-Threatening AllergiesCollaborate/consult with parent(s) and physician(s) to obtain appropriate medicationmanagement orders as neededEDUCATION:Bachelors requiredTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:The position is hourly and is set at $38.25 an hour. The candidate must be on-site for all hours the program operates and report to the Director. After each shift the candidate will need to record the hours worked on a timesheet. The program will run for about 8 weeks during the summer months but is subject to change depending on program interest. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience working in a school setting.
