Casual Catering Assistant Bowland Café Beacon Fell (Goosnargh Preston)

Lancashire County Council Conference & Catering Team

The Conference and Catering Team at Lancashire County Council is seeking to recruit a Casual Catering Assistant to support operations at Bowland Café located at Beacon Fell in Goosnargh Preston. Due to the rural location applicants must have their own transport or reliable arrangements for commuting as there is no public transport serving the site.

This is a casual position offering flexible hours across a 7day working pattern between 9:00am and 4:00pm as and when required.

About You

A minimum of 1 years catering experience is essential.
Experience using EPOS till systems or similar is also essential.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Role Overview

You will contribute to the smooth running of the café by carrying out a range of catering and customer service duties including (but not limited to):

Basic food preparation in line with our Food Safety Management System
Supporting stock checks stock rotation and refilling coffee machines
Preparing and serving food and drinks
Operating the cash register and completing daily sales reports
Using the dishwasher and restocking shelves crockery and cutlery
Collecting used crockery and cutlery
Assisting with cleaning duties in the kitchen and related areas following established cleaning schedules
Providing excellent customer service in a welcoming café environment

Pay & Conditions

Lancashire County Council proudly offers the Foundation Living Wage for this post. This rate is independently calculated each year to reflect the cost of living for employees and their families.
