In Gas Power APAC Human Resources (HR) we work together as a team to build a safe inspiring and inclusive workplace that enable our teams to do their best work. The APAC HR Leader will be responsible for developing and executing the human resources strategy across the global APAC pole. This person will be a strategic partner to the leadership and HR teams providing horizontal leadership and operational accountability across all facets of HR. This role will collaborate with the APAC teams and ensure we have the right talent capabilities and cultural mindset to deliver for our customers AND make Gas Power a winning inclusive and safe place to work for all our employees. This role is also responsible for supporting the Country HRs and COEs across the APAC region.
This role offers location flexibility within the APAC region including major GEVernova hubs subject to business and legal requirements.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Provide strategic HR leadership for Gas Power APAC Pole ensuring comprehensive contemporary and effective HR strategies are executed in support of a dispersed workforce.
- Strategically collaborate with the business to ensure alignment between functions poles and business lines.
- Partner with the Pole leader on specific initiatives for the Gas business in the region.
- Ensure the culture and strategy of the function aligns with and contributes to business-wide priorities and the GE Vernova Way. Be a major change agent in promoting our Safety Quality Delivery Cost culture.
- Collaborate with the APAC team to develop a strategic workforce plan building key skills and a pipeline for critical talent across the global APAC Pole.
- Leads with a Lean mindset. Leverages Lean in the quest to reduce waste and improve customer value. Practices and promotes Lean concepts.
- Supports organizational simplification leveraging Lean methodologies to build organizational capabilities contain cost reduce inefficiencies and waste and maximize performance across the business and HR function.
- Oversee and enhance a robust talent management strategy relying on centrally developed data and analytics to fulfill the organizations business strategies.
- Champions diversity and inclusion and implements strategies to address underrepresentation. Supports the team to build deep diverse and competitive slates and succession plans for roles.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the APAC HR team and horizontally to the HR function including but not limited to talent acquisition employee/labor relations talent development succession planning retention learning employee engagement and total rewards.
- Focuses on safety and the lifesaving rules. Exemplifies unyielding compliance and ethical behavior.
- Hires coaches develops and inspires diverse HR teams.
- Provide support and counsel to the Country HRs and COEs in the Pole and ensure collaboration across the HR community
- Act as liaison between country HRs and COE/global teams providing guidance as requirements for regional activation or escalations as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge/experience
- Extensive experience in a variety of Human Resource positions both staff and client based
- Fluency in English required
Desired Characteristics
- Experience working and living in the Asia region with specific knowledge of HR practices labor laws and local requirements.
- Masters degree in business administration or human resources (MHR MILR MBA)
- Highly skilled at executing complex change initiatives across multiple organizations
- Demonstrated experience in delivering global HR outcomes and working effectively across multiple cultures
- Demonstrated influencing and relationship building skills at all levels of the organization
- Successful experience developing and coaching both senior leadership and HR talent
- Demonstrated ability to effectively link HR strategy to business strategy
- Experience leading and operating in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
