TITLE: Development Manager

LOCATION: San Francisco CA (20% domestic travel required)

EMPLOYER: AES Clean Energy Services LLC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all aspects of project development from site origination or acquisition through to construction commencement; Develop and manage project development schedules and budgets; Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders; Manage contract obligations in key project documents; Manage Project Discretionary Permitting including permit strategy tracking permit efforts working with local AHJs presenting at permit hearings; Coordinate closely with the broader cross-functional teams; Coordinate delivery of site and environmental studies surveys and diligence reports; Work with internal and external Engineering teams as they progress engineering and design; Work with internal construction management team on contractor selection process; Coordinate with construction management team on securing ministerial permits; Handoff projects once fully developed and permitted to the construction management team; Participate in project financings answering relevant diligence questions and providing required documents; Coordinate additional resources or outside consultants/contractors as well as managing and meeting expenses throughout project development; Apply critical thinking needed to communicate and influence employees at all levels regarding project risks opportunities and recommended action; Provide support and analysis for Business Development pipeline reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job requires Masters in Energy Systems Environmental Engineering or a related field. Experience can be gained through any combination of work experience coursework and/or academic pursuit.

This position also requires experience in each of the following:

  • Practical expertise in renewable energy project development encompassing utilities interconnection permitting contracting as well as familiarity with renewable energy and energy storage technologies;
  • Expertise in using unstructured/unlevered financial models to analyze financial feasibility and maximize project value. Including familiarity with strategies such as Tax equity financing Debt financing Investment Tax credit Production Tax Credit as well as monetization strategies like Power Purchase Agreement and Renewable Energy Credits;
  • Demonstrate proficiency in renewable energy project technicalities encompassing PV and BESS systems functionality along with components like PV modules inverters trackers and adherence to NEC codes;
  • Project Management experience to coordinate with broader internal/external team overseeing all phases of renewable energy project development including site identification permitting interconnection construction and financial management ensuring project is on schedule and incompliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Skills AutoCAD Helioscope GIS Nearmap Pictometry Google Earth MATLAB ANSYS Fluent Salesforce Smartsheets PVsyst.

SALARY: $128634.40/year - $143650/year.
