Job Summary

The School-Based Therapist provides mental health counseling crisis intervention and supportive services to students within participating school districts. The therapist works collaboratively with school personnel families and community providers to promote student well-being enhance academic engagement and address barriers that may impact learning. This position is employed by the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ECOESC) and is assigned to Noble Local School Qualifications:Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or related Ohio licensure (LSW LPC LPCC LISW or equivalent).Ability to obtain appropriate credentialing and clearances for school-based communication organizational and collaborative Drivers LicenseSuccessful completion of current BCI/FBI background checksResponsibilities:Provide individual and small-group counseling to students addressing emotional behavioral and social screenings assessments and treatment planning in accordance with professional standards and ECOESC evidence-based mental health interventions aligned with a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).Identify barriers to student learning and work collaboratively with school staff and families to address social emotional and behavioral needs that impact academic with school administrators prevention specialists teachers and support staff to coordinate student care and support students and families with appropriate school and community resources and develop partnerships with community providers to strengthen support crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed following district and ECOESC safety student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions using assessment data and evidence-based accurate and timely student and program documentation in accordance with state law ECOESC policies and confidentiality requirements (FERPA/HIPAA) and support program evaluation and district planning with parents or guardians to support treatment goals and encourage family for students to ensure equitable access to educational and mental health supports that reduce barriers to in required supervision team meetings and professional development as a resource for school staff on mental health prevention and student support confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all ethical legal and professional standards of practice and serve as a positive role model for clinical diagnostics and treatment consigned with professional training certification and in Special Education and 504 meetings and other student case conferencesAdditional Responsibilities:Follows all directives contained in the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators and board policyPerforms all other duties as required or requested by the building principalMaintains licensure practices ethically and within the lawSkills:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsSkilled in assessment and data gathering by multiple means including interview observation standardized assessments surveys and focus groupsCoordination of social servicesRelationship-building between systems and providersEfficient and effective time management skillsProficient in typical school technology software and assistive technology (communication devices)Ability to interact in a positive manner with staff students and parentsMakes contact with the public with tact and diplomacyPromotes good public relations through personal appearance attitude and conversationCollaborates with various school personnelPromotes the Districts mission vision values and philosophyPlease submit a resume and letter of interest to Nanette McFadden Executive Director of Human Resources at
