Position Overview
The Rental Car Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the dealerships rental department. This role includes managing fleet availability ensuring vehicle readiness coordinating reservations monitoring profitability maintaining strong customer service standards and leading team members to success.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily rental department operations
Manage rental reservations contracts and vehicle availability
Monitor fleet utilization maintenance schedules and vehicle condition
Ensure vehicles are clean fueled inspected and ready for customers
Hire train schedule and supervise rental staff
Deliver excellent customer service and quickly resolve customer concerns
Track performance metrics revenue expenses and department profitability
Coordinate closely with service sales and management teams
Maintain compliance with company policies insurance requirements and rental procedures
Help develop strategies to grow the rental business and improve efficiency
Qualifications
Previous automotive rental car fleet or dealership management experience preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable with computer systems reporting and operational tracking
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Professional dependable and solution-oriented mindset
