Job Summary:
The Radio Mechanic / Vehicle Equipment Installer is responsible for installing maintaining and repairing communication and electronic equipment in vehicles used by law enforcement emergency services and other operational units. This role ensures that radios sirens lighting systems and other in-vehicle electronics function reliably supporting mission-critical operations. The position requires technical expertise in electronics wiring and vehicle systems with a focus on safety quality and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Install configure and repair radios sirens lighting systems and other electronic equipment in vehicles.

Perform diagnostics on communication and vehicle electronic systems to identify and resolve malfunctions.

Maintain repair or replace wiring connectors and electronic components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Test installed equipment to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety and operational standards.

Maintain accurate records of installations repairs and maintenance activities for fleet vehicles.

Collaborate with fleet management IT and operations teams to schedule installations and coordinate service requests.

Ensure all work complies with organizational safety and regulatory requirements for vehicle and communication systems.

Stay current with advances in vehicle electronics radio systems and industry best practices.

Assist with the inventory management of electronic parts equipment and tools.

Provide guidance or training to other staff or technicians on equipment installation and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications:
